Monthly Program Meeting
Into the Nature Exhibition Tour and Talk with Tommye McClure Scanlin
Description: Grab some friends and let's meet at the Hudgens for a tour of Into the Nature which brings together the works of seven artists, all working in the medium of fibers and inspired and informed by our physical world. Their selected works examine beauty, rhythm, conflict and topography; how the natural world is impacted by man and how human existence makes marks on the world. The exhibition also features handwoven tapestries and works on paper by our host, Tommye McClure Scanlin, whose work was a catalyst for the show. Several of Tommye's design works are included in the exhibit, so she'll talk about how she translates her designs into tapestries, and she'll give a brief weaving demo in her studio which has been re-created in a portion of the gallery.
