Test Drive Knitting Techniques - Canceled

with Dawn Laurie

Description: Join us to test drive a variety of knitted stitch and colorwork patterns, including textured stitches, cables, lace, intarsia, slipped stitch, and stranding. Each week, you'll get handouts and patterns along with demonstrations and the hands-on instruction needed to add to your collection of small sample blocks. Along the way, you'll learn to read and work from charts, make friends with gauge and blocking, and gain the confidence and skills you need to finesse each type of pattern. Take these new techniques for a spin and add excitement and variety to your knitting journey!

Dates: This is a six-week class meeting from 1-4 pm on the following Saturdays:

  • September 1, 8, and 22
  • October 13 and 27
  • November 10

Dawn Laurie earned a Certificate in Painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1987, a BFA from the University of Hartford in 1993, and an MFA in Painting and Printmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1996. She worked as a fine artist for more than three decades, and now she is translating the colors and textures she combined on canvas into stitch and colorwork patterns in knitting.
