Sewing Skills: Zippered Pouch

Description: Try out your new zipper skills on this zippered pouch. You’ll also learn how different interfacings can shape your bags. Fun, fast, and so useful you'll end up making more than one!

Diana Taylor is a life-long crafter who teaches sewing, quilting, and embroidery classes at Fabricate Studios.

# of Participants: 4 - 12

Experience Level: Basic Sewing Skills - threading your sewing machine, winding a bobbin, sewing a straight line, and maintaining a consistent seam allowance.

Required Supplies:

  • Sewing machine (We have a few available for your use if you don't own a machine. Just email before registering to confirm availability.)
  • Regular zipper foot
  • 2 fat quarters (one for the exterior, one for the lining)
  • Matching thread
  • 1/2-yd fusible interfacing (SF101 or fusible fleece)
  • 14" or longer all-purpose zipper
  • Colored thread (so you can see your sewing)
  • Pins
  • Scissors
